The First Test

I, We, think, I'm Pregnant with baby no. 2!

How's that for an introduction? I've been sitting for a few minutes now and still can't decide how to start this entry. Although, Far-ouT and I decided that it is still early to tell anyone (except my friend no1else) about the good news. Since I don't think anyone from my family and close friends are actually reading my blog, I decided to spill it out here first.

I've done the first test this morning. I just want to check before I went for a training. I do dragon boat paddling, by the way.  Nevertheless, even when the pregnancy test showed 2 pink lines, I decided to go ahead with my sports. I don't want to feel that I am again limited with what I normally do.

Taaadaaaaa!

Some says that the home pregnancy test is accurate but I'm only a week's delayed from my period, that's why we are planning to have another test the following week just so to see if it will have the same result.  Maybe I would still doubt the second one though, I guess the only thing that would really make me believe is if I will missed my period for a month and a visit to the doctor.

It was again a planned pregnancy since last year, my mini-ME will turn 6 this coming June and its time for her to have a sibling. We started trying last February 2015 and it would really make us happy if indeed Baby number 2 is on the way. My mini-ME was born in the Philippines but this time we are considering giving birth in Dubai to save ourselves of some hassle. My company is only allowing 45 days maternity benefit and as you know, I need to book my flight before reaching my 8 months of pregnancy. If would only  be longer, I would still prefer to give birth in my home country.

Anyway, I have considered several hospital and now choosing between Latifa Hospital and City Hospital. I would still be doing a lot of homework, I am all for my safety and my baby.

That would be all for now and I think you will now hear from me henceforth.

All the best,

Excuse This Post: I am struggling with Facebook

I am struggling right now. With Facebook. I can't help but raise my eyebrows or roll my eyes every time I read someone else's shout out, negative shout-out for that matter. Let me make a disclaimer first.  Facebook is fun, it gets you connect with people in your life, families, friend, old colleagues, neighbor, etc. I, too, am guilty of posting hateful statements, happy thoughts, and even updating my daily activities with people who I don't know if at all care at some point. But Facebook posts also have negative effects on us. It becomes a place for saying something bad in an indirect and unpleasant way. A form of subtle manipulation, in a backstabbing manner.

I don't mean you need only to posts the good things in life. But I see some posts of hate towards people, a husband, a boyfriend, a mistress, an enemy. What do you get from revealing your most intimate feelings to the world? Do you feel relieved after posting your family problems? Do you think people will even care if your husband is having an affair? Or that you need money? or your pet died? or that you cut yourself? Or how you criticize people because you think you are superior? How far can you go exposing your life to strangers. Why do you want people to know just how miserable your life is right now?

Why do you even post your prayers to God for heaven sake or Thanking Him for all your Blessings in a post? This is beyond connecting to social media.

I hope these people will realize the limitations of technology. Abusing the benefit of what we are enjoying is not good. Use it sparingly.

Now I know a lot of you will argue with me. You'll say, its my Facebook account, its none of your business what I post. I understand that we run our own lives. Its fine with me. We are all entitled to our own opinion, you have yours, I have mine. And I say, you are a sad case. So now, Ignore me.

Bare it all at Pastels Salon

Today, I am happy. Although I cannot divulge that information as yet until I have completed that task. Anyway, I want to share with you a place where I usually visit during my pamper and me-time first.
I think I can't live anymore without waxing. I am, unfortunately, hairy, so I need to remove the unwanted hairs on all the unwanted areas like my upper lip, underarm, half legs and the you-know-where. I always try to look for a nice place to have all these services done and finding the right salon is hard to do in Dubai. There are so many of them that offer services but you can only trust a few. Then I chance upon Pastel Salon. They have a wide range of services for the hair, nail, face and body treatment and ever since my first session, I always come here for my waxing.  I have revealed to them my most kept secret...(eherm)..."thing" and I was not disappointment. They have been taking care of me for the longest time.
Without further ado, let me tour you to one of my haven,
This is where I always had my session.  See how clean the place is? It is important that you check the place that you wish to have your waxing. Another reason why I chose this salon, is because they put thin gloves during your session. They always observe  good hygiene for their clients.

I have been choosing their lycon wax over the hot wax where they use strip. Less pain for me. Have you been in Lay Bair in the Philippines? They use cold wax, its similar to that but Lycon is hot. Although, its more expensive that the normal wax, I still prefer this to be used for Brazilian waxing.

This is where their facial is being done. I haven't tried one of these as yet - maybe in the near future.

They maintained cleanliness of their wash/bath rooms, of course.

This is for manicure and pedicure area. I like the small lavatory for the feet.
Cute!

This is for the hair services. I was actually want to kick my royal behind several weeks ago because, I had my hair done in another salon and now I am wearing a not-so-nice hairdo. I am just awaiting for it to grow long again and swear to never experiment with my locks or use a different place again.

Pastel Salon have several branches in UAE. I hope you enjoyed the mini tour.
All the best

I Conquered Abu Dhabi: Danat Jebel Dhanna Resort

In addition to my long A-List, I now can say that I conquered the place. I know Abu Dhabi was far, but I never knew it was that far from Abu Dhabi. It was a long four hour drive. We planned to leave in the morning but for some work related issue, we were delayed to afternoon. We left the house at about 3ish and we arrive at around 7:00 PM already.

No gasoline station, no houses in sight, not even a single building, It was really a road to nowhere. I suggest you travel in the morning as it would be difficult to find the location at night. We were actually looking for road lights but that is also lacking on this part of Abu Dhabi

The sun is almost down, we were already hurrying up to reach the place but still nothing from where this photo was taken.

Nevertheless, the long drive was worth the wait when we finally arrived at our destination. Elegant hotel structure welcome us. I can say that it is indeed a 5 star hotel service. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

I realized that we wasted a 5 hours time from check-in when we entered our nice cozy room. if we drive earlier, we would have enjoyed and relax longer. Nevertheless, we used every minute of our stay. I've learned my lesson from our previous weekend getaway when we were given a 2 single beds so this time around, I have requested for 1 king-size bed for 2 adult and 1 child. Emma, the one at the reception advised us that they even managed to upgrade our room. I was not disappointed,

As this a sight to behold from where we are located

The bathroom was far smaller than the one in Ras Al Khaimah but I think, I like this even more.

They have souvenir shop - although, I wasn't able to get even one item for myself (pathetic me),

Relaxing seats

Believe it or not, this is just their entrance to the pool and gym area.

The gym is well equipped.

At the corner of that area is place for kids, I was impressed with all the toys inside, this may not be as important as what other hotels may think, but small as is it is, the area was not compromised

Before you dive into the water, why not play a game of giant chess?

My mini ME was asking nonstop when we were on the road, if we are going for a swim and if we are already near, and I told her, yes, we are already near - like every hour for the past 3 hours.

The back of hotel duting night time

and day time, front view of the hotel

I get to see the other amenities of the hotel the following day and was really awed with everything the hotel has to offer

Additional playground for the kids

And pool side area

Hammock anyone?

Up close and personal with the beach

T'was the best hotel experience so far in my A-Dubai Living.

To be continued on my next post...A Gastronomic Binge.

All the best,
