The China Times

I want to share with you the latest food trip that I have discovered recently while doing window shopping in DDC. The first that will caught your attention is the middle table where you can choose a wide selection of maki.

Then the colorful seats

and those hanging colorful lights

The table setting has a nice touch of purple flowers

Then teapots...my mini ME loves them

The next best thing was the food!

This is their seafood soup (AED 26).

China Times Fried rice with egg (AED 37)

Wok braised beef cube in honey soy sauce with sesame seeds (AED 42)

Special Crispy duck served with plum sauce (AED 55)

The foods was really delicious at China Times.
So the next time my friend and I went for shopping the following day, I ended up bringing her to the same place.

We ordered the crab stick salad - these are shredded crab meat with mayonnaise and shredded cucumber

The China Times whole special roasted chicken (AED 49)

and again the, China Times Fried rice with egg (AED 37)

Sorry, I need to post this as well. Although its OOT.

Happy eating, all the best.

The Orchestra restaurant and Cafe

My mini-ME just celebrated her 4th birthday last June 4. It was a quiet dinner before her party. This place was suppose to be her venue but due to some unavoidable circumstances, we had to cancel at the last minute. Kudos to the accommodating people in The Orchestra restaurant and Café. They serve Mediterranean and continental cuisine. The manager, who was very nice despite the inconvenience we may have given them, allowed us to spend the deposit on food and drinks.
These were the food we got for AED 500.
Our starters were really good. The Orchestra Sampler platter - consists of cheese balls, chicken wings, spinach sambousik, fried calamari, shrimp tempura, and potato wedges

This is their Orchestra Salad. Mix lettuce, smoked turkey, sliced cheddar cheese, cucumber, tomato and sweet corn

Chicken escalope - fried breaded chicken breast, served with rice

Another chicken dish for the birthday girl. Chicken Lemon and Pepper - grilled chicken breast crumbed with lemon spice, served with French fries and vegetable sauté

And The Orchestra Steak for us. Beef Fillet grilled with vegetable, onion, mushroom, topped with kaskaval cheese, serve with potato fondant, and vegetable sauté

And the birthday got a bonus dessert, The Orchestra tiramisu to blow her candle.

I must admit the place is really a nice venue for an event.

I think it can accommodate more than 50 pax. Just so sad that we did not had the chance to push through with the party here as planned. Anyway, hope we will be able to do so in the future, maybe.
All the best,

A decade of Friendship, Love and Marriage

Today is a very special day for us. We are celebrating our 5 years of marriage and 10 years of being together. Far-ouT planned on surprising a dinner date for me but decided to tell me earlier because he also want Bella to come with us but unfortunately, at her age, she was not allowed on a cruise.
I would like to share with you the celebration of our anniversary in Bateaux Dubai.
Complimentary freshly baked breads.

Another treat from the cruise, these ones are really good.

Another complimentary from the place, their Spinach soup - you see, I am not a fan of the green thingy but this is really good.

Finally, I thought I will get full with all the treats but the real thing just gets better.

As a starter, Far-ouT chose Smoked Duck with Wild Mushroom Salad

This has Balsamic Ice cream (yes! you read it right, Ice Cream), Pearl onion Confit, Roasted Pumpkin Seed and Crispy Basil Pesto Melba

And I ordered Pan Seared Scallop and Prawn

Cauliflower Pure, Confit tomato, Green Apple-Celeriac Salad and Squid Ink Parmesan Tuille

I have been asking Far-ouT for a scallop because I haven't experience to taste it until now, what a first! Even with uncommon ingredients, it was a surprised that both starters were really good.

Now for the main course, Far-ouT enjoyed his Lamb Loin and Braised Lamb Shoulder.

Roasted Red Pepper Cous-Cous, Baby Spinach, Zucchini and Goats cheese-Red Onion Tart.
And my main is Beef Fillet with Thyme infused Potato Fondant.

I love the Broccoli Puree, Wild Broccoli, Goat's Cheese Ravioli and Smokey Rosemary Jus. Although the potato fondant was bland, that was the only piece that I have leftover.

And for desserts, we have chocolate

Cheesecake

So much for food, I want to give you a tour inside and out of the amazing floating restaurant

Big dining area

Going down to the kitchen

transparent glass

My favorite - wash/powder room

Our table

More of sights to see

Before the main course - 10 minutes rest

And a toast to more years to come

Hope you enjoyed the tour,

All the best,
