Failed Diet

You may be wondering why I made this Blag! with a title like that when all I’m blogging about are life’s sweetest moments. Well, you’ll understand as you go through reading…

Pia and I click together because we have shared and still do a lot of things together. we used to go places in our bikes, both our bikes have been stolen, by the way. We have times of overflowing money and times of famine, we liked wearing our 2-piece swimwears when we go for a swim, we talked a lot of things especially those we love to hate over a cup of coffee at starbucks, we drink and get drunk, we smoke and we planned vengeance to our boyfriends when they hurt us and those leeches who irritates us. We both love weddings and food! food! food!

As years pass by, things change. We evolve. Our boyfriends became our better halves and now we both have kids. The things we used to do became a thing of the past but will forever be events to reminisce. Pia now has her pishyong (did I spell it right?) that she don’t go without but I still do jeeps and buses but sometimes taxi if need be. Pia is still sosyal but I am richer. I still want to wear my 2-piece while she refuse to. She still smokes and drink and me? I stopped as I am now a breastfeeding momma. And now the hardest part of change is this…

She is on a diet and I am not!

Pia is now on a General Motors diet which she religiously follows.

Day One you are preparing your system for the upcoming programme. Your only source of nutrition is fresh or canned fruits. Fruits are nature’s perfect food. They provide everything you could possibly want to sustain life except total balance and variety.

Day Two starts with a fix of complex carbo-hydrates coupled with an oil dose. This is taken in the morning for energy and balance. The rest of day two consists of vegetables which are virtually calorie free and provide essential nutrients and fibre.

Day Three eliminates the potato because you get your carbohydrates from the fruits. You system is now prepared to start burning excess pounds. You will still have cravings which should start to diminish by day four.

Day Four, bananas, milk and soup sound the strangest and least desirable. You’re in for a surprise. You probably will not eat all the bananas allowed. But they are there for the potassium you have lost and the sodium you may have missed the past three days. You will notice a definite loss of desire for sweets. You will be surprised how easy this day will go.

Day Five, Beef and tomatoes. The beef is for iron and proteins, the tomatoes are for digestion and fibre. Lots and lots of water purifies your system. You should notice colourless urine today. Your allowance calls for the equivalent of five “quarter ponders”. Do not feel you have to eat all this beef. You must eat the six tomatoes.

Day Six is similar to day five, Iron and proteins from beef, Vitamins and fibre from vegetables. By now your system is in a total weight loss inclination. There should be a noticeable difference in the way you look today, compared to day one.

Day Seven finished off the program like a good cigar used to finish off Victorian meals, except much healthier. You have your system under control and it should thank you for the flushing and cleaning you just gave it. - source

She was on her Day 3 when we went out. All fruits and nothing else(?). Talking about determination and the will to survive.

Her meal was bought from supermarket, Bldg. B of SM Megamall. For a minimal cost, you’ll enjoy variety of fruits to choose from.

This container’s full of different kind of fruits which cost around P100.00 (prices are charge by weight)

While I on the otherhand, had a taste of Reyes barbecue…

Boneless chicken barbecue with peanut based sauce, java rice and atchara on the side

I upgraded the drink to Four seasons

I love their chicken! It can go without the peanut-based sauce but it is added points for a different kind of taste and for those with choosy palates. This combo is P104.00 , additional P 14.00 for upsizing of drinks.

I was enjoying my meal so much that I forget about my dear friend and utter “Hmm, sarap!” (How unsupportive!-Pia)

Life goes on, girl…

Anyway, there are also other menus and budget meals to choose from. To know more about Reyes Barbeque, you may visit their site.

After my sumptuous meal and Pia’s…well, healthy snacks. We went to starbucks…our usual hang-out when we want to talk about everything and anything under the sun.

I was kindda disappointed because at that time, I wasn’t able to have my usual coffee – Mocha Frappuccino since they run out of Decaffeinated beans so I had chocolate cream chip instead and of course, cinnamon roll.

Alright…if you are someone who has an eye for details, you’ll notice that there are 2 drinks on the table. One is mine and the other was whose? You guess it right…

Oh, well. She’s on a diet but she also doesn’t want to feel deprived… Pia’s Java chip with jelly (the makunat one).

Don’t worry, girl. I will not spill it to anyone.

Though there is a saying that “nothing is constant but change.” There are certain things you just can’t do without. Coffee.
