Pneumococcal Vaccination

Bella hit 10 kilos today at 1 year, 2 months and 10 days. with length of 73 cm. I am not sure if this is ideal for her age but she's definitely heavier. She also got her 2nd shot of Pneumococcal Vaccine, the first one was last March 13, 2010 when she was about 9 months of age. This type of vaccine is a method of preventing a specific type of lung infection that is caused by Pneumococcus bacterium (read more).

According to my reseach Pneumococcal Disease is a bacterial infection caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, that invades the lungs, causing the most common kind of bacterial pneumonie, which can also invade both the bloodstream (bacteremia) and the breain (meningitis). Symtoms include high fever, cough with chest pain and mucus, shaking chills, breathlessness, and chest pain that increased with breathing. This vaccination cost around Php 4500.00 for each shot.
